ABA's Member Banks Participates in SWIFT Middle East Regional Conference, Dubai

In order to be compliant with SWIFT rules, regulations, recent innovations, exchange business ideas with software companies, ABA’s SWIFT National User Committee members participated in SWIFT Middle East Regional Conference in Dubai during 23-25th September, 2018. The SWIFT User Group Committee formed under ABA leadership, works as united body to maintain and embracing new changes of SWIFT operation, comply with new rules and regulation and innovations. As an important exposure visit for the SWIFT remittances of Afghanistan banking sector, Afghanistan Banks Association (ABA) urged member banks to take part the conference.

Before the beginning of conference, there was special meeting for Afghan delegation. During the session, banks shared their pending issues and requirements. Some banks had questions and pending issues related to Alliance Lite 2 which was answered by SWIFT team. SWIFT team also shared some statistics of Afghan payments for past 3 years. They also briefed the community on SWIFT security program and self-attestation timelines.
