ABA Conducts Swift NUG Committee Meeting

ABA conducted SWIFT User National User Group Committee Meeting on the following agenda points.
1. Status of ATS integration with DAB
2. Swift regional conference - Turkey
3. Self-attestation status
The meeting was attended by Chief of Operation/IT of Bank and ABA. Mr. Asadullah Faizi Chairperson of SWIFT National User Committee chaired the meeting. He briefed the members on importance of Bank integration with Automated Transfer System-DAB and how to accomplish this task efficiently. The technical portion regarding shifting of banks from SWIFT MT to MX was another agenda discussed in details. Mr. Edrees Alimy Senior Research and Communication Officer ABA added that, based on SWIFT committee recommendation, ABA took action and submitted the committee proposal to DAB. Further, Mr. Faizi updated participants on SWIFT events that is to be taken place in Turkey in December 2019. The forum is instrumental to be updated on Swift new products, discuss problems, and establish correspondent banking relationship. The event will be attended by 200 international banks from 50 countries- Africa and Middle East. Banks were encouraged to take part in the event. Regarding self-attestation, banks were insisted to accomplish self-attestation timely, dough in the future SWIFT plan to assign some external audit companies to carry out verification of self-attestation which is performed by the banks.
