Second Access to Finance Exhibition 2013

Afghanistan Banks Association (ABA) with the support from USAID’s Financial Access for Investing in the Development of Afghanistan (FAIDA) project organized the Second Access to Finance (A2F) Exhibition with the theme of branchless banking and electronic payments on October 29 & 30, 2013 in Intercontinental Hotel, Kabul, Afghanistan. The two days exhibition was aimed to connect Afghan banks and other Financial Institutions, with enterprises either looking to source finance in order to grow their business or using the branchless banking systems for managing their financing.

The two-day exhibition allowed more than 50 Financial Institution and business service providers to showcase their products and services in 62 booths to more than 3,500 businesses and guests with the aim of expanding their market potential. In addition, 2nd A2F Exhibition enabled Afghan businesses to explore all available financial products in the market today, and learn how to effectively access different loan and credit products. In the meantime, 16 workshops and a business to bank roundtable were held to promote formal financial sector of the country and improve business awareness of financial sector.

Access to Finance is the main enabler of growth of the private sector in developing countries. In order to stimulate the economic development of Afghanistan, yearly A2F Exhibitions provide a leading venue where Financial Institutions and businesses interact. they are helpful to discover available credit, loan, and other financial products. It has also provided businesses with information and advice on how to access capital.

ABA yearly exhibitions are good platform for Financial Institutions and businesses with high growth potential allowing Financial Institutions to widen their customer base and target various business sectors. 2nd A2F Exhibition had covered all important areas of financial sector by having three pavilions namely banking, microfinance and branchless banking and electronics payment pavilions.
